In a sarnia world of petro chemical and industry work, this happens to be one of the coolest events around. I am very proud to be a featured artist every year for this event. Dj’s Are The Best Dancers

February 24th, 2011

Well hello again…

Todays blog post is about something I truly never thought about until I read the attached article.

Before I became a DJ I used to frequent the local nightclubs in search of the dance floor. Yes, I Love To Dance! Not knowingly I was one that understood rhythm and timing. For someone to keep pace with a beat represents that someone has good sense of timing. I watch dance floors for a living and to this day it still entertains me beyond belief how good or how bad people dance.

Have you ever been somewhere and have had someone dancing that you could not stop watching? Usually it is because they are either very good or very bad. The ones who are bad are those who dance and seem to be listening to another song!  You must admit….this is pure entertainment!!

For those who know nothing about being a DJ please read the attached article. After reading you will gain respect of a dance floor and the art of keeping one.

Remember…dance like no one is looking!

It’s All About The Top Tens

September 12th, 2010

As a dj it is my job to play music that the people in front of me want to hear. A good DJ will feed off of requests because they are great ways to gain perspective on the audience. I have been a dj for just about 19 years. In this time a lot of things have happened. Some of the instances I am referring too are good…..some are bad. You have bad nights….you have good nights. One of the most flattering things ever asked of me is my opinion. How often do you go up to a DJ and ask them what they recommend??  Probably not too often. I have on occasion been asked the ultimate question. Carl…what are your favourite albums? Damn!!!  That is a great question considering it is my job to monitor trends and be somewhat of a critic on the subject.

So here it is ….my top ten albums….regardless of genre or timeframe. Here are the albums you should investigate either on youtube or at your local record store.  These are the albums that touch me in one way or another. You may agree or disagree but is this not the beautiful thing about music. Everyone is right!

Please understand I probably could have made this list several times and basically took some of the most obvious listens for me.

Click the link and enjoy!

2. City and Colour – Bring Me Your Love

3. Queens Of The Stone Age – Songs For The Deaf

4. The Shins – Wincing The Night Away
